Nov. 1, 1871. Hon. Hamilton Fish, Secretary of State. Sir: Your letter of the 28th ultimo to the Acting Attorney General, enclosing the copy of a letter to you from Mr. C. W. Wessen, of Florence, Ala., has been received, and a communication has been addressed from this Department to Mr. Wessen on the subject of his letter. Very respectfully, &c. A. T.
