Nov. 8, 1871. Hon. L. P. Poland, St. Johnsburg, Vermont. Dear Sir: Your letter of the 16th ult. came in my absence. There is yet no vacancy in the District Attorneyship of New Mexico. I am not aware that any is contemplated. The effort which you supposed was to be made to obtain the office for Mr. Catron has not yet been manifested here. Very truly yrs. A. T.
