Sir:
Referring to a letter of the Acting Secretary of the Interior to this Department of the 9th of October last, in relation to alleged depredations on the Government property at Fort Smith, in Arkansas, I have the honor to enclose the copy of a letter received at this Department from the U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Arkansas, in response to a call for information upon the subject.
