I have the honor to transmit the copy of a communication from the District Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee in relation to the frauds of Montandon and Carter; also, the original papers previously transmitted by you to me upon the same subject; and to request that the information which the District Attorney calls for may be furnished from the Quartermaster's Department.
