Sir:
I have the honor herewith to transmit to you a copy of a letter from the District Attorney for the Southern District of New York, in relation to the efforts to find, and serve with subpoena, the witnesses in the cases against Jordan and Ryan; and also copies of the enclosures in his letter, to wit, an affidavit of James Turney, and a letter to him from F. R. Lowe, and also of correspondence between the District Attorney and Messrs. Webster and Craig, Attorneys for Spain.
