A notebook (probably bound by someone other than Whitman), containing
some draft lines (one titled "Epictetus," another "After an Extract from Heine's
Diary") that bear an unknown relationship to Whitman's
published work. Also included are several notes that scholars have
identified as autobiographical comments on Whitman's relationship with
Peter Doyle.
